Scrum Framework
In the world of Agile, Scrum is used the Most. The term Scrum came from a very popular game RUGBY.
As in Rugby all the team members try to focus on a common goal. Similarly in Scrum framework all team members focus on delivering common goal to the customers.
Before we know about scrum let us first know what is not Scrum.
SCRUM is not
- A Process
- or A Method
- or A Technique
Scrum is a simple framework, which is easy to understand but difficult to master and is based on Empirical Process Control / Empiricism.
In 1995 Jeff Sutherland & Ken Schwaber jointly presented a paper describing the scrum framework at the Business Object Design and Implementation Workshop held as part of Object-Oriented Programming, Systems, Languages & Applications ’95 (OOPSLA ’95) in Austin, Texas.
The Scrum Guide, is the only official Scrum Body of Knowledge, the definitive guide to the rules of the game is created & maintained by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland.
The 1st version of Scrum Guide was published on Feb 2010, as the framework evolved multiple revisions are made to the scrum guide. The latest version the 6th edition was released on Nov 2017.
Scrum Framework is mainly consists of 3 Roles, 5 Events & 3 Artefacts. Each role, event & artefact embodies the three pillars of Empiricism (Transparency, Inspection & Adaptation).
